Schema in Data Warehouse
The term schema means logical description of the entire database. It is a collection of database objects such as tables, views, sequences, synonyms and indexes. It includes the name, description of data types such as data items and aggregates. Database uses RDBMS on the other hand data warehouse uses schema such as star, snowflake and fact constellation.
It is the simplest data warehouse schema. It looks like a star with points radiating from a center that’s why it is called star schema. In star schema there are one fact table and multiple dimension tables containing a bulk of data with redundancy. It can be simple or complex, simple star schemas contain one fact table and complex contains multiple fact tables.
